Get More Bang for your bud with 5 ways to intensify your high!
Although the THC level in cannabis today is typically strong enough to induce a great high, there are times when the effects can be diminished and not feel as potent as you’d like. Maybe your weed isn’t as strong as you thought – or perhaps your tolerance level has become too high to get a good high. If that’s ever the case with you, don’t worry – because following are five proven ways to help intensify your high and ensure you get more bang for your bud!
- Eat a mango. Mangoes contain a chemical compound called myrcene terpenes. When this compound interacts with THC, the end result is a higher high that’s both stronger and longer lasting! Experience some Mango Magic today!
- Exercise. A good cardio workout like running, biking or swimming creates a feeling of euphoria brought on by the rush of endorphins flooding your system. By combining a THC-high with a good workout, you’ll take your workout and high to a whole new level! Just make sure if you’re running or biking while high that you remember your way home!
- Add ice cubes to your bong. If you like the high you get when smoking out of a bong, but don’t like how it can burn your throat and lungs, try putting a few ice cubes in the bong (in addition to the water), then smoke your weed like normal. The ice cools down the smoke, allowing you to take smoother, longer and fuller hits. In this case, you’ll definitely get more bang from your bong!
- Eat some foods rich in Omega-3 and Omega-6. Foods with Omega-3 and Omega-6 have fatty acids that help enhance your high by binding with the cannabinoids in weed to deliver a quicker, better and longer-lasting experience. By eating some Omega-rich foods 30 minutes before smoking weed (i.e. eggs, fish, nuts, avocado and quinoa), you’ll intensify your high. Healthy fats like those found in cannabutter are also known as a great way to enhance THC highs.
- Have some dark chocolate. Who doesn’t like dark chocolate? Not only is it delicious, but it also contains high levels of cacao, which slow down the time it takes for anandamide (the “bliss molecule” in your brain that binds to the THC receptors) to kick in. As a result, ingesting dark chocolate before (and during) smoking makes the euphoric effects from weed last longer than normal. Plus, you’ll satisfy your cannabis cravings!
Many stoners also recommend increasing the number of breaths you take before and after each hit, which filters the smoke through your lungs better, delivering a better high. In addition, green tea — which contains an antioxidant called catechin — is known to increase relaxation when combined with THC.
